City Food Trail in Norwich

Out & About

This March the fine city of Norwich, also know as the City of Stories is hosting a trail with a twist.

The Norwich Business Improvement District has decided to expand on March’s World Book Day with its deliciously fun Storybook City Food Trail.

Fourty-four of Norwich’s cafes, bars, restaurants and market stalls are joining in this new event. They’ve taken inspiration from Norwich’s literary heritage and some of our favourite books to create a selection of unique dishes and drinks.

You can try the Chronicles of Sarnia from The Bodega on Norwich Market. Perhaps you fancy the Winnie the Pooh inspired Pot Bao Bun from Chi Street Food in Chantry Place? Or get some Wuthering Bites from Grosvenor Fish Bar in the The Norwich Lanes.

There’s lots of sweet options for you to pick from as well. Such as James and the Giant Peach Pizza from Eric’s Pizza in Yalm Food Hall or Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake from Figbar.

After all that food you’re going to be thirsty so you could easily go for a glass of Tiger Who Came to Tea from TipsyJar or some of George’s Marvellous Medicine from The Last.

If you’re looking to get on the trail of the treats then you can pick up a City Food Trail map from any of the venues or download it from their website. If you get lost you can look out for the trail’s neon lights which will be displayed helpfully from the windows of the participating resturants and bars.

What’s more is the the map acts as a special ‘library pass.’ Use it to collect stamps from the various venues. If you collect six stamps you can enter a prize draw to win an afternoon tea for two at The Assembly House!
