Beauty expert Tracey Wilkinson gives us some much needed autumn skin care advice

Autumn is upon us and after the last few months there’s a sense of relishing the new season ahead despite the COVID-19 circumstances. This time of year means nourishing your summer skin to continue that glow and embrace new products to get us not only through the elements of winter months but to ward off the dehydration of central heating.

The way we currently buy skincare and make up has changed so much, it feels so long ago that we could walk into a shop and test a product, have a complimentary makeover, experience a facial or even get a hair cut without a mask.

Now is the time to start taking care of our skin and to treat ourselves a little, especially in the current climate. A new lipstick or scent to raise our moods and feel a sense of normality.

To start we need to continue with our SPFs, they aren’t just for summer, the coming winter months still means that there are damaging UVA and UVB rays. One of my personal favourites is Kiehls Ultra Light UV Daily Defense. With a built in moisturiser it not only protects but helps reduce the signs of ageing and also sun spots.

Another amazing product I’m using regularly is Ouai Treatment Mask. If like myself you highlight you hair and find the summer sun has damaged your locks then this is my new favourite. Ten minutes on dry hair pre shampoo and it makes an incredible difference. It restores balance, protects and smells incredible.

I’m a huge By Terry fan, Terry de Gunzberg invented countless products including the Touché Eclat. Her French make up and skin care are luxurious and indulgent. The iconic Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder has now been launched in a convenient Pressed Compact, setting make up perfectly when you’re on the go too.

To continue the summer glow I’ve been using Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum.  With a unique blend of hyaluronic acids and powerful superfoods the serum supports a gradual tan while providing lasting hydration. Great for those who prefer to stay out of the sun, or those looking to extend their tan into the winter months.

And finally what better way to cheer ourselves up (and protect our lips in the winter months) is the new NARS Oil Infused Lip Tint with hydration for plush lips. Oil infused with a hint of tint for a glossy shine, it can also be used over your usual lipstick.
