Visitors to the Holkham Estate now have a unique opportunity to stay overnight in Cuckoo Lodge, a charming rural escape in the heart of north Norfolk. Surrounded by spectacular countryside and an easy drive to Wells-next-the-Sea, The Victoria and Holkham Beach, the self-catered cottage is the perfect base for a relaxing getaway for couples, families and furry friends.

Located just outside the south-east corner of Holkham Park and discreetly tucked away down a long farm track, Cuckoo Lodge boasts plenty of character and a large outdoor space. Whilst still retaining its original 1860s cottage charm, the lodge has been refurbished with chic style and comfort in mind.

Inside, the lodge is a cosy and homely space. Guests can cook up a storm in the newly fitted kitchen, play board games in the living room or cuddle up with a good book in front of the wood-burning stove. The light filled dining area leads out onto the garden, an idyllic spot for afternoon lounging or alfresco dining. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with views to the sea, a twin room and a family bathroom.

Set within 25,000 acres on the majestic north Norfolk coast, Holkham is a breath-taking outdoor paradise. With expansive landscapes to explore, the Holkham National Nature Reserve and golden sandy beaches, visitors to Cuckoo Lodge can experience an abundance of outdoor space and activities. Whether guests wish to explore the scenic routes of Holkham Park by renting a bike, or enjoy one of the many carefully curated walking trails, Cuckoo Lodge provides the perfect oasis to come back to after a full day of relishing all the rich wildlife and history Holkham has to offer.

Cuckoo Lodge is one of Holkham’s six unique and enchanting parkland lodges. Visitors can also choose to stay in the woodland hideaway that is Palmers Folly, the Grade II listed and very romantic gatehouse Palmers Lodge, S.S Teulon-designed South Lodge East and South Lodge West, and the exemplary Grade I listed Triumphal Arch designed by the renowned architect William Kent. All six lodges offer comfortable, stylish décor that aims to reflect their rich history.
