Bruha
East Anglia based brand, Bruha, has created a range of clean, clear and crisp premium beers in a new larger 440ml format. The pack size change aims to give consumers more value, whilst also aligning with the brand’s eco-friendly credentials.
“We want to give consumers more for their money. 330ml is a popular pack size, particularly in the craft beer sector, however we want to create a point of difference with this slightly larger format,” explains Bruha MD Rob Breakwell. “Our aim is to balance the premium nature of our beer with good value. Plus from an environmental point of view, it costs the same to fill a 440ml can as it does to fill a smaller can, so this slightly larger size is more eco-friendly.”
Launched by Rob Breakwell and Marc Medland in 2020, Bruha now brews 20,000 litres of beer a month in its brewery based on the Norfolk/Suffolk boarder in the heart of farming country where the best barley is grown. There are three beers in the Bruha range, which will now be available in 440ml cans; Bruha Session Pale (3.9%), Bruha Lager (4%) and Bruha IPA (5.6%). All three use the very best East Anglian malted barley, which helps create the distinct flavour.
Continues Rob, “Bruha is aimed at the modern drinker. Someone who loves a good pint, but isn’t interested in fads or trying ‘the next big thing’. We want to become an essential beer brand for the region and beyond, and be known for creating aspirational beers that are consistently delicious.”

Oak-Aged Gin
The award-winning Heart of Suffolk Distillery has created something deliciously different for gin and whisky lovers alike; an oak-aged gin that is best served neat.
To create its new oak-aged Gin, the expert team at the distillery has barrel-rested its flagship Betty’s Gin for six months to create a totally different gin, with hints of oak on the palate that are reminiscent of whisky. The result is a smooth gin with subtle bourbon notes that provide a warming and exceptionally easy drink to enjoy over ice.
With oak-aged gins still very rare on the market, Betty’s Oak-Aged is smooth enough to appeal to gin lovers, but also boasts that distinctive finish that will be enjoyed by whisky fans too.
The Limited Edition Betty’s Oak-Aged Gin is currently available in 20cl bottles, RRP £16 and 70cl bottles, RRP £41. There’s also 5cl bottles RRP £6.50.

Under 5’s Planting
Suffolk coffee firm, Paddy & Scott’s, has found an innovative new way to save its compostable cups from the bin by using them as the perfect pots for planting as part of a new project designed to get green-fingered youngsters to develop a passion for plants. With 1000s of its paper coffee cups destined for recycling bins every week, Paddy & Scott’s has teamed up with local plant geek, Michael Perry, to get kids (and their parents, carers and teachers) involved in its summer planting competition. Paddy & Scott’s Hadleigh and Ipswich branches will give away free wildflower seed balls to takeaway coffee buyers with an under five child interested in taking part. It is also working with Hadleigh Community Primary School to encourage more children to grow flowers and plants this summer and share their successes online. Michael has created a video on how to plant up in a compostable cup, and kids will be able to share their progress and final plants with @paddyandscotts.
The competition is open from now until 18th July 2022. To find out more search for #JuniorPlantGeeks
