Adam Gunton
The Full Monty
Disney+, 14 June
You can leave your hat on, baby. While you’re at it, maybe leave everything else on too; this isn’t that sort of magazine. It’s been 25 years since Gaz, Dave and the rest of the Sheffield striptease act took the country by storm in the original Oscar-nominated film. This limited series follows the original characters as they navigate a changing Sheffield – a town that reflects the troubles the rest of the UK is seeing in its healthcare, education and emplyment sectors. It’ll be full of the charm of the original film where people suffering hardship find a better way forward together. The Full Monty was always more than meets the eye – in more ways that one.

The Witcher – Season 3, Part 1
Netflix, 29 June
Toss a coin to your Witcher! I love a good fantasy series and as much as I enjoyed the first season of The Witcher, I didn’t have much of an idea of what was happening with the various stories sent during different times and all that. The slightly more linear narrative of the second season was much more palatable. The only problem with the new season is that we’re getting it spread over two halves! Henry Cavill is back as monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, charged with protecting Ciri. Monarchs, mages and beasts of the continent are hunting down Ciri and it will take everything that he and Yenefer have to keep her safe. It’s a bittersweet return as it’s Henry Cavill’s last series as Geralt before Liam Hemsworth takes over for the fourth series.

The Idol
Sky Atlantic/NOW TV, 5 June
This brand new series, created by Sam Levinson, showrunner of Euphoria and music sensation, The Weekend, is sure to be a hot topic of discussion. It follows a rising pop idol (Lily-Rose Depp) and her complicated relationship with a self-help guru and cult leader, played by The Weekend himself. Expect scandolous scenes throughout.
