This November I’m covering treatments both in salon and at home. In view of Covid so much has changed and this month I’ve experienced the best of both worlds at The Norfolk Beauty Rooms and at home with the new Dot Agency.
At the salon…
The Norfolk Beauty Rooms opened in 2019 and is based in central Norwich, on Lower Goat Lane, and offers a huge array of services including those with Dermalogica products. I was given the opportunity to try the deluxe Dermaplaning facial protocol which retails at £60. The luxury facial helps to remove the effects of sun damage, reduces signs of aging, diminish hyperpigmentation, brightens dull skin and exfoliates the skin. Dermaplaning is pain free and with no recovery time.
The treatment started with a double cleanse and then a full analysis of the skin. Sarah at the Norfolk Beauty Rooms then informs you of her findings; which for me was some open pores and a note about pigmentation from the summer months. After a further cleanse, the Dermaplaning procedure takes place, using a surgical blade to remove peach fuzz hair and dead skin cells ¬ hence performing the deep exfoliation of your skin. Steam towels are then applied for a cleanse and aromatherapy pressure point facial massage follows.
From here on a chilled hydro sheet mask is applied which contains collagen, hyaluronic acid, rose water, vitamin C and E. Whilst this does its magic Sarah performs a shoulder, neck and arm massage. Afterwards intensive serums are applied, along with eye cream, moisturiser and SPF. Whilst I could see the results immediately it was the next day when my skin was glowing and plump. The serums and creams absorbed so well and my make up applied like dream. At home products are available to purchase and compliment the treatment. The Dermalogica Biolumin-C Face Serum brightens the skin whilst it exfoliates reducing the appearance of pigmentation. In addition it firms the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally the Biolumin-C Eye Serum brightens the eye area with a boost of vitamin C.
At home…
Secondly I was given the opportunity to experience the newly launched Dot Agency, a luxe concierge service for pampering at home. They have hand-picked professionals ensuring that only the best service will be delivered straight to your door. From hairstylists, makeup artists and nail technicians they can come to your home, office or hotel, whether you’re getting ready for a special event, meeting or just some well-earned pamper time. Not only this, but they also offer services for events, pop up or corporate work, as well as one-to-one tutorials.
Katie, hair stylist and Dot founder, has spent the last few years backstage at fashion weeks in London, Milan and Paris. Her shows include Valentino, Missoni, Dior, Givenchy and Burberry to name but a few, and she has worked with the biggest names in hairdressing for Vogue Paris, Dust and Self Service magazine.
I love a pampering, but to be pampered in my own home isn’t something I’ve experienced before. There are so many plus points; such as not getting rain soaked on the way home from a blow dry or having your makeup done hours before then travelling home and having it slide off before an event or a date! Katie complied with COVID-19 rules in my home, which put me at ease straight away. Having washed my hair before her arrival, she got to work using the most incredible products from L’Oréal Pro, Bumble & Bumble and GHD. The whole service was nothing short of amazing, starting with an incredible bouncy blow dry, setting of curls and then a final curl with tongs. I could go out within minutes of it being done feeling amazing. The next morning I woke with full thick hair, which lasted the following day and I still felt glamorous! It’s a service I’ll use again and again. I can’t wait to try their makeup and nail services in the comfort of my own home as a treat.
